For 9 weeks this August and September, we will be trekking up a mountain, going on safari, and building latrines in eastern Africa. Hopefully we'll survive the heat, the altitude and the diseases that we face, and have a lot more fun besides! We'll try and chart our progress on here when we can, so if you're concerned and/or bored, have a look every so often...
About me. Hmm. I'm currently on a long-anticipated gap year after finishing a degree in Modern History and Politics at Oxford Uni. I kicked it off with a 9-week trip round East Africa in the summer with a friend, and now I'm going to try and cope without her for 6 months in South America. I've been wanting to do this for so long, I just hope it's as good as I've been building it up to be. Since Africa, I've been slaving away doing the breakfast (and every other) shift as a waitress in a naff local hotel, so it's got to be better than that. In the grand scheme of things (you know, career stuff) I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my life. But it's foolish to rush into these decisions, right?
